Attention: UNF Camp Sokil and the UNF Strila Program have been postponed until further notice. Day and Overnight access to the campgrounds at Hawkestone remains closed.

With the disruption in our children’s schooling this year, many parents are struggling to arrange proper lessons to continue their child’s education. We have developed a system organized by subject and grade that is in line with the Ontario Curriculum.

UNF CAMP SOKIL

Developed during the entire year leading up to camp, the program is focused on intellectual and emotional growth and on the building and maintenance of physical health. Primarily using the beautiful surroundings, campers run, play and learn from Mother Nature herself. Every day is carefully scheduled from 7 am to 10:00pm and develops leadership skills through play and team building activities. Carefully prepared workshops and professional special guests add to the diversity of the program and have included dance, pottery, yoga, embroidery, authors and animation classes. There is a special focus on Ukrainian culture at Camp Sokil, with many activities based on our rich Ukrainian traditions. We have a fully inclusive English-Ukrainian bilingual environment.

With trips to Algonquin Park and Georgian Bay, daily ORCKA certified canoe instruction, campfires, dances, sports and crafts, Camp Sokil brings our campers the quintessential Canadian camp experience. Come see why Camp Sokil has been soaring for over 50 years!

Three fun weeks of arts and crafts, sports, games and learning while in the beauty of Nature. The program is split into age groups so that campers receive the best experience possible:

Blue – Ages 6-8
Green – Ages 9-11
Red – Age 12

All campers will be together at meals and evening activities but will go through special programming developed for their age bracket during the day. For example, campers in Red can begin their canoe training and also attend more workshops with special guests. Blue group has lights out at 9pm, versus a 10pm lights out for other groups.
